Why are you using a form and subform bound to the same table?

The weight field needs to be a number type, not text. Then try the following options:

    1. form in form view, click on the subform, click Totals on the ribbon, choose Sum under the weight column

    2. form DefaultView set as Continuous or Single, in design view, textbox in form footer with expression: =Sum([weight])
How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.
