    Timeline + Events Report

    Hello everyone,

I am trying to set up a rather complex report and I have not really a good idea how to approach this:

What I am looking for is a report that looks like a table where the number of columns and rows is not known beforehand:

    Week 12 13 14 15 16 ...
    Product Customer

    Bananas Apes 500 400 600 750 1000

    Cherries Birds 300 0 800 1250 600
    Hamsters 50 750 1200 800 600

The number of columns depends on the timeframe I am looking at which is given be the first and last date that an order was placed.
The number of rows depends on the number of products I have.

Also, I am not sure how to set up the query that I should use as basis.

Right now I have a table with

    OrderDate, Product, Customer, Product, Amount.

    I really appreciate any help!

    Thanks,
    Benjamin

Okay, the general words for this kind of report are "crosstab" and "pivot".

The horizontal direction is called the pivot.

I couldn't find the thread I was searching for right off, but there are lots of examples out there.

Please reply to this thread with any new information or opinions.
