Check out 'Access™ 2007 Programming by Example with VBA, XML, and ASP' by Julitta Korol, Wordware Publishing, Inc.
How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.
For the general basics, I recommend MVP Crystal Long's free tutorial that starts here http://www.accessmvp.com/Strive4Peace/.
Like most free stuff, her tutorial is based on Access 2003, so the screen interfaces won't look like the current ones, and you won't learn a thing about the ribbon or the nav panel. But the basics about tables, forms, queries, reports, modules, and so on are there in an extremely readable format.
There's another free tutorial for 2003- here http://www.learnaccessnow.com/ and one for 2010 here http://www.functionx.com/access/.
Once you've understood the total basics, you can start buying good reference materials like Korol's book or the various Bibles, Inside Outs, and so on, depending on what part of the application you need to focus on.
