    Smile Comparison

    Hi,

I have a field which give me some result. It is a % (like 0,006497%)

    I have to compare this % with 5 parameters like 2%, 5%, 10%, 15% and 20%.

I mean when that perecentage (0,006497) rises 2%, give me an alert.

Or supose that perecentage is like 2% and goes down, give me an alert.

I don't know if the CASE is the solution, but if it is, please help me how I can construct this CASE.

I would like to have your help to tell me the best way to do this in the form or at least in a query, which I can display the results in a form.

    Thanks a lot,
    Victor Hugo

I'm sorry for letting this thread get this old Victor. To be truthful, I'm not really sure how to achieve the results you want. We will probably need a little more information on your system. How are you keeping the historical data? Where do those 5 arguments (parameters) come from?

    Dear RG,

Actualy I made a Table to keep theses arguments, like:
    Field -Parameter1 - I keep 2%
    Field -Parameter2 - " 5%
    Field -Parameter3 - " 10%
    Field -Parameter4 - " 15%
    Field -Parameter5 - " 20%

Supose I have a form base on a query and certain following field rises:

    Day1 (Yestarday)- I have 0,006497%
    Day2 (Today) - I have 2%

In this case when the field rises 2% or 5% or 10% or 15% or 20%, give me an alert informing about that field.

This also can be if the field goes down of 2%, or 5% or 10% or 15% or 20%, receive an alert to control the situations.

    Thanks in advance,

    Kind regards,
    Victor Hugo

How many different fields will you be watching? Your form only displays one day at a time, right?

So you have two fields in the same record that need to be compared?

Goes down how much? Where do you want the alert?

    Dear RG,

Goes down like if is 1,99%.

I mean that if the field rises 2% give me an alert. Supose the field rises 2% and I got the alert. After few days the field can be 3% or 4%, no problem, but if rises 5% I need to get an alert. But after I get the alert in another day if the field goes down to 4,99% I need to have an alert. This means after I got the alert when rises 2% the other should hapens when is 5%.

    So we have: 2% - 5% - 10% - 15% - 20%

When the field rises this percentage we have one alert. If the field goes to 1,99%, when stay at 2% we need an alert.
If the field goes to 4,99% when stay at 5% we need an alert.

    Thanks,
    Victor Hugo
