    Linking like materials

    Hello All

I have two tables that I have linked together based on "parent specification"

Here are the details, to help understand what I need help with

A material number is associated with one and only one parent spec.
A parent spec is associated with 1 or more component specs.

Here were in lies the problem:

Material 1234 is very similiar (if not the same) as Material 5678. This is the difference

    Material 1234 (Parent spec ABC)
    Comp Spec # 1 (98%)
    Comp Spec # 2 (2%)

    Material 5678 (Parent Spec XYZ)
    Comp Spec # 1 (97%)
    Comp Spec # 2 (3%)

In essence, they have the same component specs, but different levels.*think chemical levels*They also have different parent specs because of these different levels.

How could I write a query that I want to find "like" materials of 1234 that 5678 would show up.

Any help you could provide would be really appreciated. Let me know if you need additional information or clarification. I could send the tables if needed.
