Update and delete from linked txt file?

I have a handful of csv file out on our network here at work. I am trying to create a nice front end for the few people that will need to go in and edit those csv files. I thought it would be easy enough to use access and link to the file. However it seems you can't edit a txt file this way. Is there a fairly easy way to get this accomplished? I am not a power user with access but I have used it in the past and created a few minor databases. I really just want to creat some nice clean simple forms for people to go in and add new fields and delete old fields. These flat files are pretty basic so it wouldn't be anything crazy.

What is weird is when I first open the linked table in access it alows me to edit a few fields before it gives me the "Updating data in a linked table is not supported by this ISAM" message. And I can open the original file on the network and verify the data has been modified. Figures something that seems like it should be so simple isn't.

I am using access 2013 btw.

    Thanks in advance.

Editing text files is not simple. Google: VBA open, read, write, edit csv

    Here is one: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1...eas-close-file
How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.
