Can't add record to sub form

I have a form with a sub-form in datasheet layout.
I'd have a command button on the form which I would like to add a new record to the sub-form. (image attached)

Unfortunately, I can't seem to get it to work with a sub-form, though it does if you try to add records to a form itself.

Any ideas?
