Attachment Field problems

I have created a small simple database with fields for first and last names and an attachment field for pictures. This is for a photo directory of members of an organization.
I tested the program using family pictures until I had everything working.

I deleted all data and then started entering member data for the directory. Now for the problem. As I add a new record, an old family picture shows up until I add a new picture. My question is how do I initialize the attachment field?

I am not sure whether you have used hyper-links or OLE (Object linking and Embedding) field type, but what ever I could make out from your post it is OLE field. there are 2 ways to attach a photo to this field 1. Linking 2. Embedding. It seems that you have linked the pictures and thus although you have deleted the source files the pictures reappear.

you have to delete the link from the picture from the table permanently and only deleting the source files will not do the trick. if you have linked the pictures the photograph will be displayed even if you remove or delete the source files from its specific directory.
