Question Using a form to fill in tables

    Hello Everyone,

I'm new to Access and the forum but my job needs a database built so I'm trying to learn. So far I've gotten the hang of tables, reports & forms and I'm currently working on a navigation form. What I would like to do is have a form that would allow users to enter info about our clients and have that info populate into the corresponding tables. I've read a little about VBA & Macros but got lost and decided to ask for help before I screwed up everything I have worked on so far.

I also need to know if there is a way to allow people to add, edit & delete clients but not have the ability to fiddle with the forms layout or design. I thought there was a way to prevent that in the properties sheet but after changing the allow addition, deleting & editing to No I was still allowed to edit the form.

    Thanks

The allow addition, deletion, edit properties are in regards to data, not design.

Using a form to fill in tables

Is it even possible to use a form to enter data into a table?

Not only possible, it's the normal way. You can provide users an mde or accde to stop them from changing the form's design.

Of course. Bind the form to data source. Set the form RecordSource property to a table, query, or SQL statement. This is basic Access functionality and Access Help has guidelines on creating bound forms.
