One to One Relationship with Two Forms data entry.

    Hi,

I have two tables like Equipment and EquipmentData where Equipment data is holding some secret information which related to Equipment in 2nd table with same PK as EquipmentID.

There is a main form to enter the data for Equipments and there is a button (called Data Edit) to enter the information for 2nd Table "EquipmentData" but it always again required to enter EquipmentID to proceed for the rest of information. how this equipmentID can be automatically appear in 2nd form field after clicking the button on main form.

    thanks.

    Zee

Just a thought for consideration - if the first form (master form) has a record for Equipment; you might try to have the "secret" data -Equipment data - on a subform.
As long as the master record exists, I think (but have not tried) you should be able to add a corresponding record via the subform.

I have seen a set up for "confidential data" set up in tables similar to what you are describing. In fact I believe the secret table was stored in a different physical database with code to link to it for some administrator accounts under specific conditions. Not only was the table not known to the average user account, it wasn't physically resident in the "main" database.
