    Access Templates

HELP!!! I cannot get my templates to open in Access 2010. The message I received is: "Template Northwind.accdt could not be instantiated. The table suppliers could not be read from the template file. The object may be an unrecognized format or contain invalid data." No matter which template I attempt to open I receive the same message. What gives???!!!

I just downloaded the Northwind db and it is not an accdt, it is accdb. Where did you get the accdt?
How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.

It was what the error message showed as the extention. I wondered why it was not accdb but since I am not well versed on computers I don't know how to change the extention since I cannot open the template at all. I tried to go to Microsoft.com and re-download it but no luck, I receive the same error message again. I presume the "t" represents template, just a guess.

Yes, in my experience, "t" means template. Sorry, cannot find the template and cannot replicate error. The downloads for me are accdb files.

Well thank you very much for trying. I guess I'll have to call Microsoft themselves and ask, and of course come back here and enter the solution. I pray you have a blessed day.

How does one conduct a repair on Office 2010? I am getting the same error as this person. I would like to try the same solution.

    Thanks in advance.

    Repair probably means reinstall.
