Subform works, but doen't pull most important piece of info to table

I have a Database of our customers for which we do proposals frequently. I have two Tables (Customer and Proposal) and two forms of the same names. The customer form has a button linked to a subform that opens to give me the proposal form where I enter details specific to that customer. I have 4 options that I create records for and all seem to tie flawlessly with the table when created. The only real problem is that even though the name of the customer is displayed in the Proposal form when I click it open and all the information that follows is created as new records, the name of the customer never makes it to the table. I'm not sure where my glitch is. Somewhere in the form, but is it that I have a drop down when it should be a text box or do I need to link to a query rather than directly to the table? Can someone please guide me?

(I'm not an expert user, but I do know my way around Access)

    Can you upload your Database?

If not then a screenshot of your table relationships might do.
