Updating records by taking values from another table

    Hi all,

trying to get into access right now but the bible 2010(which im reading and learning from) is quite big and I'd love to know something already now:

I have two tables. One with autonumbering and certain strings. The other has those certain strings and various other data. How can i change all the strgins from table two to their corresponded autonumbering values from table one? I know I could use excel and do it in a few steps but Im sure there's an "Access way".

    Thanks

You're absolutely right Alan. Never had any crossposts but what you linked to makes sense. I'll keep that in mind. Thanks for your help and advice!
