    Beginning user to Access

I have been using Excel for years. Love it, find Access to be more confusing then need be. What am I missing. Others tell me the whole Access Enterprise is very fruitufl and productive. Someone explain this to me. Tell me why Access is the only way to go in business world. I'm just asking for reason to use it a bit more often.

From what I understand, Excel is very useful for analyzing numeric data and will always have its benefits that cannot be mimicked by Access. That said, Access isn't "the only way to go in the business world" as some may have led you to believe. However, Access is used for designing Relational Databases, a topic not included in Excel. Even a simple browsing on Google about the latter should give you scores of ideas and inspiration on why these databases have benefits that cannot be duplicated in Excel. I hope this link is a good starting point: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ac...001042918.aspx

No one claims Access is the only way to accomplish a task but it is good for small to medium size relational database.

What is it that confuses you? There is no comparison between Excel and Access. They are different tools for different requirements.
