    New DB Normalization and relationships

    Hi,

I have started a new DB for a small business and I was wondering if someone could have a look before I get too far. It is for a used/refurbished bicycle business that will also stock an inventory of parts to be used (and sold) with the bicycles and also sold on ebay and by direct sales. Because of this there are two sales tables combined into a slaes type and linked to a combined sales table. All the necessary fields in each of the tables have not be added yet.

Please comment on the design and make suggestions where needed.

(I also replied to my first post tonight to pass along the great stuff I learned on this forum!!)

    Thanks and take care,

    Daryl

You might want to add a few date fields.... without date fields, you can't tell when you acquired the bike, when it sold, how long you had it in inventory.

Why do you have two sales tables?? Oops, 3 sales tables? Sales are sales. Have one sales table with an additional field for "E-Bay", "Bike", "Parts". So much easier to create reports... but I don't know your system/ current method...

    Just a few thoughts
