    International Date/Time

    Hi Gurus,

I did a search on this subject and could only come up with 1 related thread which was not resolved. I'm hoping I can offer some more information for this problem and hence a solution.

If I create a blank table, and a single field with a Date/Time format, I have the following options for formatting:

    General Date
    Long Date
    Medium Date
    Short Date
    Long Time
    Medium Time
    Short Time

    Here is the problem:

For a user using a european version of Microsoft Office, the Date/Time formats are actually different. They have all of the above formats, but 1 big difference in for example, Short Date:

    US Standard: 10/05/2009
    European Standard: 05.10.2009

Both relay the same information, but when storing the data they look like the above. If I have a US user and a European user of an .mde, the table holding this data is mixed up when each respective user saves info. I want to keep it consistent. Is there any way to do this? Perhaps an international standard?

    Thanks in advance..

The actual DateTime value is *always* stored the same way.

The options you mentioned are only for displaying the value. As for dealing with this inconsistancy, have a look at this link.
