    Querying a wildcard

Good day everyone. Hope you could help me with MS Access 2007 query. I am trying to query my db using wildcard "*".. on my criteria on the View Design, I put the wild card entry as, Like "*E-6120*" and this works fine..now I changed the same criteria to: [Enter the Equipment Number] .. this will now pop up a search function every time I run the sql.. If I use the same wildcard searching on the pop up box, but it returns no result. If i put in the exact db entry, I get the result.. what I want to do is search it using wild card. LEt me know how I will do this..
Thank you very much for your assistance.
