    Access running very slow

We have an access database which has approx 8000 patients information on it. It is incredibly slow when we try to input additional info onto the various tabs also when we do a search…Any ideas why this is or a way to quicken it up??
Or is it just the volume on data & we have to grin and bear it??

File is on a network and shared

    Thanks for any help

    Steve

    Tell us more.
    How many users are there?
What exactly does shared mean in your environment?
Have you split the database into FE and BE?
    Do you have a DBA?
