How do I *easily* change the order of fields in a table?

    Hello,

Hopefully this is an easy one but I'm wondering if there is a way to change the order of fields in a table and if so how to do that without literally creating a new table or doing a lot of copy/pastes.

    Thanks

Nothing to it. Open the table in design view. Select the row you want to move by clicking the record selector on the left, then click and drag the field up or down as you need to. The process is identical to changing the tab order of fields on a form.

    Thanks!

Thanks much John! That's what I was looking for. Amazing that they made it so difficult to do that!

The order or fields in a table doesn't really matter. If you want the fields in a different order, use a query. I use a query in 99.9% of my forms, reports, combo boxes & list boxes. Queries also have the added benefit of being able to sort on one or more fields. And you can filter queries.

    Just my $0.02 .....
