Arrow Controls - Won't stay where I drop them in a report design

    Strange problem,
I have a report with many controls. Mostly fields from the database.
Report has worked ok for several years
Most recently when I tried to edit the report and add some new controls to it they won't stay where i drop them on there report layout.
They move up to a previous section, sometimes two sections up but always vertiacally in line with where i drop them.

I have a report header section, a page header section, A header and a detail section
I want the fields to be in the detail section but they won't stay there

I'm not sure if this is the best solution, but after dropping the control, try right-clicking on the control, hover over "Layout", then select "Remove layout". Now you should be able to position the control anywhere.

    Thanks for the thought.
I tried that and it did not work, the remove layout choice was already grayed out and not available.
