    duplicate record based on calculation

I'm getting stuck generating packing lists in a warehouse application.
All of our cartons fit 72 pieces, if the order is for 216 pieces how do I generate 3 carton records for 72 each from an order detail record that shows 216? If the order is for 200, how do I create the 2 carton records for 72 and the 3rd for the balance of 56?
Any help will be greatly appreciated,
    Ari

Have you looked at the Mod operator?

Thank you for pointing me towards the mod operator, it will come in handy in determining how many cartons there will be needing stickers.

Question is... I have a picked order table with a quantity field.
Lets say I use the mod operator to calculate and populate a sticker_count field. If the sticker_count field has X, how do I create 'X' records in a sticker table?

picked order 1 is for 216 pieces and will be shipped in 3 cartons each requiring a sticker (record in sticker table).
Picked order #2 os for 72 pieces and only needs 1 carton/sticker.
Picked order #3 is for 720 pieces ad needs 10 stickers...

How do i create X records for each order where X is the quantity in the sticker_qty field? I'd see 3 cartons for picked order 1, 1 for 2 and 10 for 3.

    Thanks again,
    Ari

Are you printing your labels on a label printer or sheets of labels?

Sheets of custom labels similar to what you'd get from avery.
I had envisioned each sheet as a page on a report for a specific picked order.

They are left over from a previous application and suit the needs of our largest and of course most demanding customers.

    Thanks again
