    update db connection

Just moved several access dbs to a new location. When I opened one of them, which contains queries, I cannot run them. I get an error message stating the Microsoft Access database engine cannot open or write to the file "xxx". It is already opened exclusively by another user, or you need permission to view and write its data. I noticed the file path is pointing to the original location and not the new location. I'm new to this and would appreciated some help to how to edit the db connection to reflect to new location. Do I have to update each query individually? Thanks.

It is using linked tables (presumably to one of the other files you moved) you need to re-link the tables.

    to find it try here:

    Agree with R Badger.

When you move access databases to a new location then you should relink all linked tables. To relink it again use following steps:

    1) Delete all the linked tables & recreate it.
    2) Then use Linked Table Manager to change the current linked table’s locations to a new location.
    3) After that use VBA code to relink the tables.
