    Confused!!!

    Hi,

I am trying to understand an already existing DB in 2007. The problem is as follows:
there is a form and a table. The data that is being entered in this form is getting saved in the table.
In all there are 15 fields on the form, the person who enters the data only enters 5 fields, the rest 10 fields get populated based on the 5 fields entered.
And the table has these same 15 fields.

    My dumb questions are:
    1) How are the form and table related?
    2) Where is the relationship between the form and table defined?
    3) How is the data that is getting entered in the form automatically being saved in this table (do we have properties where this can be stated)
4)There should be some query running in the background (which is not visible to me in the navigation pane), which is calculating these 10 extra fields for the form and

both displaying them in the form at the very same moment and also updating the table with the total 15 fields entered.

Is the form bound to the table? Open the form in Design View and check the form properties. What's the recordsource? If it's bound to the table, there's the answer to questions 1 through 3. If it is bound, go ahead and open the table in Design View, view the properties of each field, and check to see if a Default Value is specified.
