Is it necessary to create table relationships BEFORE creating a query?

Is it necessary to create table relationships before creating a query that draws on data from multiple tables and/or is there some way to create a query that draws on multiple tables without creating table relationships?

    Thanks!

I hardly ever create table relationships. I create my queries and join tables as necessary in the query.

Thanks Alan! Can you provide a quick overview on creating join tables in the query?

To join tables, drag the PK in the first table to your FK in the second table.

Look at the link above to see how to change the joins.
