    Need help with date issue.

I am aboard a US Navy ship and have created a data base to keep track of my users. My users have to do a yearly training about keeping the network safe and if its not done they loose their access. The table I have keeps track of the date of their current training and when it expires. What i want is in a report that i generate, which has all the users listed with the date of their IA expiration to have the users who are a month from expiration to be in yellow or some other color and the users who are past expiration to be red. Can this be done? How would I do it? Please I need help with this...

    Thanks in advance.

Conditional formatting works in reports. Have you looked at it?

In design view, select a control and right click and go to Contitional Formatting.

Cool that helps me alot with some other stuff I am doing but the problem I am having now is I don't know how to set up the conditional formatting so it will change the color of the text when its after todays date or when its a month away. Have any ideas? Thank you so much for your help... I really appreciate it...

Did you use the "Expressen Is" function? If so, what did you put in there?

So this is a control that displays the [IA Expiration] field? I assume it is a DateTime field? I don't believe there is a built in Today() function. Did you create one?

The Date() function returns the current date with the time set at midnight and Now() returns the current Date and Time.

Ok, I'm doing something similar but I just need it to turn red on the expiration date. After reading what you guys are posting I know that I'm looking at the expression but what would the formula be? I would appreciate any help you can give, just got tasked with this project and I have to have it up and running soon. Very new to access when it comes to editing.

Not enough information to properly assist and you should have started a new thread. Is it a Report or a Form?

Tagging on to old threads (4 years old) limits who can see your issue. Far more helpers would see it if you started a new thread. Having said that, you could use Conditional Formatting to change the color of your control in a report. There are several ways but that is probably the easiest.

Please reply to this thread with any new information or opinions.
