    Auto-populate and Attachment Problem

    Hi,

I have 2 problem which i cannot solve.
Firstly I would like to auto populate certain fields base on a ride name but do not know how to go about doing that.
Next, whenever I start filling in a form, and when I wan to attached a file it always show "Cannot update. Database or object is read-only". I can only attached a file when I go next and then go back which I think is not really practical. Can anyone help me please.

    Thank you in advance.

    Best regards,
    David Yam

Use VBA code to populate fields.

    Don't understand the other issue.

Do you want to provide db for analysis? Follow instructions at bottom of my post.

    Hi,

Thanks for replying. Use VBA, can U give me any example?
The other issue is whereby I always have this error which states "Cannot update. Database or object is read-only". However I realise that as long as my document is not (New) and has an ID number, I can attach the file without the error popping out. I am not sure why does this happen but i was thinking if i could create a VBA where when i open the form it straight away makes Form.Dirty. Or do you know where i have gone wrong, why cant i attach file when it is unless i move to the next record and then back?

    Thanks you very much.

    Best Regards,
    David Yam

PS: My table is in sharepoint by the way.

Hard to offer specifics without knowing more about your data and project structure.

Still don't understand the other issue.

Would really have to see the project.
