    Access DataSheet View Sort Error

I am getting this error, but I have validated all of the data. A bug?

Try to compact and repair and see if that solves your issue.

    Hi -

When do you get this error?

When you say you have validated all the data, you have done so according to YOUR definition of valid - but there must be something that something that does not meet the requirements that Access is expecting. As a guess, it might be a date that is not in the format that Access expects. Does you data have dates in it?

No dates, just a list of names.

Do you have names with apostrophes in (e.g. O'Brien)?

Try opening the table or query outside of the form, i.e. in native Access, and trying the sort there. Does it work? Does sorting work for all the fields, or just some o them?

    Hi -

Datasheet view is a feature of forms. What I am trying to find out is if your error is related to the form, or if it is somewhere else. Without using the form, open the query or table that is the recordsource of the form. Are you able to use the sorting feature? If the sort works outside the form, then there is an error in the form somewhere - or something in the data that the form doesn't like. Let us know what you find out.

What exactly are you doing? And what error message exactly are you getting?
Can you show a sample of the data involved? and any related code if it applies? A jpg of the screen(s) would suffice
I don't have acc2010 so an accdb won't help me.
