    db won't open.. and...

Ok, I've been tasked with adding some functionality to an existing Access database created by someone else.. someone who is not an expert.

I 'was' an expert, but it has been 5 years so I'm slow getting back into it.

    But, here's the problem.
When I open the database, either buy double clicking it in the directory or by using File Open in Access; it does not open. It just opens access as if I had only opened Access.. and not a database in Access.

So, to get around that I created a new one and imported everything from the original one. Well, none of the command buttons work, and the expressions are correct.

    Any ideas??

Since ac2007, db's have needed to be in a "Trusted Location" in order to work properly. http://www.btabdevelopment.com/ts/2010TL

It seems that your original file has become corrupted.

There are three solutions to resolve this error:

First solution is to importing old database in to new one which you have already tried.

Second solution is to use Compact and repair utility.

If these solutions won't work for you, I hesitate to say but this sounds serious! There are third party access recovery software like Stellar Phoenix that you can easily find on the web.

When you recover the access database, don't forget to run a thorough set of PC maintenance routines such as full virus scan, check disk for errors, defragment, check for updates at Microsoft, and implement abackup strategy.
