Hi Team,
I have not been able to figure, if we have the option to open the database as read-only using VBA in Access. Example Workbooks.Open Filename:="D:\Files\ABC.XLS", ReadOnly:=True
Regards and thanks in Advance.

I don't think so. Can hide navigation pane, disable ribbon and toolbars, manage forms so that data is not editable on them, create an accde. Review this for a start http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ac...001230187.aspx
How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.
Thank you for responding and for the link....This has to be limitation of Access VBA then...the only solution for making read only is by Setting Attribute of a file to VBReadonly, and it does not give much control.
