Calculated field has duplicated (triplicated) Results

I have a form that has a Control [SourceVol](number) and then a subform that has another control [SupplyVol](number).
First is for goods picked up. One pickup only. Second is goods delivered (multiple deliveries)
Now on my report The Report Footer Field =Sum([SourceVol]) calculates the total incorrectly. It counts the number SourceVol for every entry in the SupplyVol. Ive tried a report with a subreport but only became more confused than ever.

The report has Report header for Title, Page Header for Labels, Header for Main form Fields, Detail for subform fields
and the Calculated fields in the Report Footer
    Any clues anyone please

I gather that you only want to have the totals for the individual records. You didn't say that, but you said that your sum has all records and that is incorrect. Is my assumption correct? If so, you may want to try using the DSum function in the footer. Suggest looking at this site for an explanation.

I'll have to look a little closer at that But here is a snapshot
My Form lists dateDel Supplier etc and quantity eg 10000 [SourceVol]
next line DelTo quantity Del eg 6000 [SupplyVol]
next line DelTo quantityDel eg 4000 [SupplyVol]
    and then repeats this pattern
So at the end of the report the Totals come out at 10000 SupplyVol and 20000 SourceVol

I looked at DSum from a couple of other sources and found this and
=DSum("[SourceVol]","tblDelMain") in an unbound control on the form gave me the correct result.
Still not sure how it works in a query but it works here so far I'll give it a bit of a trial to see
    Thanks for your help
