tryparse method

I am trying to use the tryparse method in some VBA code but apparently I am not using the correct syntax.



datatype.tryparse(text, variable) ?

Compile error:
Expected: line number or label or statement or end of statement

I've used this in VB but never with access.

It may be supported in .Net but I don't see where it is supported in VBA.

that was my question, or is there something similar to the tryparse for vba
