    Database Help

Hi Could anyone help me with my database please, I either think the problem is in the design, relationship or the form itself, Could somone be kind enough and have a look to see what is wrong and possibly correct it for me.

    The problems are as follows.

1 the add record button does not work.
2 the teams drop down button does not allow me to select the team
3 and the players drop down button keeps duplicating the players name in both the away and home team form it should only show one persons player name in either of the form

I could realy do with someone help to fix this as its doing my wifes head in that i kep trying to sort this out.

Your help will be much apreciated.

Please post a copy of your tables and relationships as jpg or pdf.
And an overview f your application, and perhaps more details of specifically what is wrong/not working.

I have Acc2003 and can not open accdb format database.

Seems this is the essence of your subject matter

a Team is made up of Players
a Player has a name (and position) and other details
a Team Plays another Team in a Match
1 Team is the HomeTeam the other team is the AwayTeam(Visitor)
    A Match has 1 result
a Match occurs in a Location(Fixture) on a specific Date
A League is made up of Divisions
A Team is a member of a Division

There is no code associated with the click event.
Will look in more detail later.

Hi Thanks for taking a look at this for me. However please bare in mind that for the sport that this database is for, I do not need a player position field.

    Your Help Is much appreciated.

I don't know what sport you're dealing with. I did not find your Forms helpful, and think you model needs work.
I looked for a sports match data model and did not find much. I found this link (it's geared to baseball) but it may have the base info you really need.

    http://academic2.strose.edu/math_and...6/answers3.htm see section 3.22

Hopefully you can get to a general data model that can handle sports teams, home and away games, teams and players.
This very much what djcIntn is looking for as well. You might want to work as a group (others may be interested as well) to create a working data model.

I also found these attached jpgs:

There is a data model for football/soccer here
