    Linking to csv files

I am new to Access and only somewhat skilled in Excel. I have been analyzing some rather large csv files that are linked to Access via a protocol developed by the University of Minnesota. At one point in the process of creating an analytical file, I have to change the field names and data types before linking and saving one of the three csv files. My question is, since I have to perform this process on the data for each year between 1996 and 2010, is there some way of saving and reusing the field names and data types so that I don't have to type them in new for each year?

Also, I am using Windows 7 Home Premium which is a 64 bit operation. If I should buy Access 2010, is there a 64 bit version?

Thank you for answering these questions.

Would need more info about process, but yes, I think should be possible to programmatically automate change of field names and data types.

    Google: Access 2010 64 bit
    Here is one http://www.opengatesw.net/ms-access-...010-64-Bit.htm
How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.
