    Creating Multiple Name Table?

    Hello!

I'm not entirely sure If I've put this thread in the right category, but here it goes. I'm brand new to Access and what I'm trying to do is this:

I have an Excel workbook with about 10 different spreadsheets. It's a roster of names on each sheet. I want Access to create a table that based on the names that appear in one particular sheet; how many times those names from that sheet appear in the other sheets.

For example, let's say John Doe's name appeared in 4 of the 10 sheets, I want the table to show what sheets his name appeared in. - But have this for everyname.

Is this possible? Thanks so much in advance!

    Welcome to the forum!

Yes, Access can do what you want, but you have to get the data into a format that Access can work with. This will require you to create a table structure consistent with normalization rules and then move the data from your various spreadsheets into that new table structure. After that is done, you can easily get the information you want with the use of a query.

I assume you have the rosters split over the different tabs for some reason. What do those tabs represent?
