Text limit in a form Access 2010

I am creating a form in Access 2010, and would like to set the maximum number of characters that can be typed into this entry field.

How would I go about doing this?

For Example: How would I limit an entry on a form so that you could enter as many characters up to 30 but not exceed 30?

    Same with numbers

    Thanks

If it is a bound table you would define the sizes on the table - for text fields it would be the field size and for numeric fields you can use the validation rule (set it to <10000 for instance for allowing entry of 4 numbers only). If it is an unbound form then maybe you can try setting an input mask.
