    Forcing users to use DB via system.mdw

    Hello wise access community members

    I have a database that is used by several members of my department, most of them access the DB through a shrotcut that runs via system.mdw. There are still a couple navigating to the original file and sometimes casing problems when another tries the same.
    I was given a few lines of code to use to prevent anyone accessing the database that do not use the correct shortcuts. It reads as follows

    test = SysCmd(acSysCmdGetWorkGroupFile)
    If Not test = "C:\some_file_directory\this_folder\System.mdw " Then MsgBox "Insert angry message here" , vbcritical + vbOkOnly, "Invalid start up"
    Application.Quit
    End if

    What I'm asking is where should I insert this code (if its right) and was there something that should proceed it. My knowledge in programming isn't great, but its getting better. If anyone can suggest a fix that a beginner can deal with would be most appreciated.

    Thankyou for your time/wisdom.

    Simon

    This could probably be in Open event of a form that is set to open by default when the project opens.
    How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.
