General Questions about Access 2010

Hi:

I plan on purchasing Access 2010.

I have not used it for many years and I am wondering if it is still much like the Access I used about year 2000 which I liked very much.

For example, back then we could create a (I think it's called) control panel with things preprogrammed for non access clients that would produce the desired forms for them, etc.



Also, if I recall correctly, the control panels were stand alone programs for them.

The interface changed quite a bit with the 2007 version. I'm guessing you mean a switchboard, which I think you can still do. There has never been a way to make a stand alone program. It will always run under Access, though there is a free runtime version available. More here

I think, yes, switchboard is the correct term.

A while back I did notice that the user interface had changed quite a bit.
That should not be a problem for me. It is the functionally I am looking for.

Could you also suggest a good Access Book to bring me up to speed?
