Open form based on subform - possible

    Hello friends,

I have a form with details about a box - number row, rack, shelf.

This has a subform which uses continuous forms - fileDesc, year_covered, year_archived

    The box contains multiple files.

Was wondering if it was possible to open/ filter the form (mainform and subform) by fileDesc and year simultaneously since they are on the subform?

By having a button on the mainform maybe, which opens up a form where you can input your filter criteria and then hit an action button which - POW - takes you where it is you want to go?

    Is that laudable fellow databasers?

    Rich.

    Hi -

What is it you are trying to do? Are you trying to find which box a file is in, or find what files are in a specific box? These are more or less the reverse of each other, and the methods used to answer each won't be the same.

Having thought about it a bit I think a simple query and a report should be fine.

Trying to open form - and find what box a file is in.

    Cheers.
