Hi
Bit new to Access, but here's what I'm trying to do.
I have Database.mdb, with several copies of FrontDatabase.mdb, owned by different users, on different machines, all of which use linked tables from Database.mdb.
Both are still in the construction stage - essential features work, but I am constantly modifying reports/queries to correct bugs and adding reports/queries as requested.
At the moment, I have to modify the database on my computer, then go round and copy it across to theirs.
What I would like to do is:
1) When I fix a bug in a query, for example, export it to directory \\server\directory\updates as a file.
2) Send them an email, prompting them to press a button, or run a saved "Import External Data" procedure that will look at this folder and copy in any reports/queries that are there: replacing existing ones if they have the same name.
3) Ultimately, when the database is a little more final, I would like this to happen automatically when it is opened.
Is this even possible? If not, is there a compromise I can use?
Thanks
Chris
