Front-end database won't work on other computer?

Hi, I'm new to this fortum. I just split a database. The front-end is in my local file. The back-end is in the network drive. It work fine in my own computer. But when I distribute the FE copy to other computer. My collague can't open the table or form in it. It sent error message that the file got wrong path. I don't know what's wrong? How can I do to set the correct path? Thanks.

    Linda

If you are using drive letter mapping, every machine must have the same drive letter path mapping. The better solution is to reset the table links with UNC pathing. This can be done programatically or through the table link manager by navigating through the Network path. In a large organization, navigating can be confusing. Here is a simple code procedure to accomplish http://forums.aspfree.com/microsoft-...ue-323364.html

literally sit at their desk, and relink to the back end (or talk them thru it via the telephone as if you are at the desk).....

that's all it really comes down to....

NTC, relinking is not efficient. Every time the project is revised, these links would have to be rebuilt.

Either every user must have the same letter drive path on their workstation or set the table links as UNC paths.

    Problem solved

Thank you guys for helping. The problem is resolved. I resplit a copy of database and enter the UNC path in the back-end file name box. Then re-distribute the FE to user. It works.
