Access 2010 navigation form - Add Navigatio Level

When setting up a navigation form, one is asked to selct from a variety of navigation styles. The one i Selected was the single level style.

I would now like to add a second level to my existing form without having to recode the whole navigation form.

I cannot find a way to do this though, so my 2 tiered question is:

Can it be done ?, if so how ?

I haven't made use of navigation control so just did some experimenting with it. It is actually a 'grouped' object. This can be seen by the dashed outline when it is selected in design view. Right click > Layout > Remove Layout will bust up the group, like Humpty Dumpty, can't put back together. I don't see any way to modify the basic structure of Navigation control. Can add tabs but doesn't seem to allow changing to multiple levels.

I use Tab control. Limitation of tab control is tabs must be at top and there is no second level. But Tab controls can be on Tab controls. Tab control easy to edit. I find the Navigation control complicated and confusing but then I have just never taken time to learn its particulars.

Access 2010 navigation form - Add Navigation Level

    Hi Mclaren

You can add extra tiers to navigation controls easily enough. You don't need to remove the layout. Look for the icon highlighted in the attached screenshot.

You can use this to draw a horizontal or vertical nav bar on your form. Then just move the whole thing onto your existing bar, until it locks into the existing layout constraints beneath your other one.

Then it should slot in. You can add as many as you like this way for however many levels. Vertical and/or horizontal.

Let me know if you're not sure what I mean. can be unclear sometimes

    Cheers

    Sully
