How do i let users tab to each field accordingly?

My database does not tab to the nearest field whenever i press tab.

For example, i am on the name field on the main form and when i press tab it goes to the number field in the subform.

If my field positions in the form look like this:

    Name

    Address

    Contact Party

How do i make it so that by pressing TAB from the name field i will go to the address field and not any other field??? How to make the tab go to the next field in a orderly manner?

When in design view of a form, in the menu bar, click on "VIEW", then on "TAB ORDER". In the dialog box, click on the gray box on the left edge of the list box. You can drag the field name to the order you want. Or clicking on the "Auto Order" button will set the tab order - left to right, top to bottom order.

Another option: Also in design view, you can click on a control, then open the properties dialog box. Click on the "Other" tab. Look for a property named "Tab Index". Changing this number changes the tab order. Remember that the tab order starts at 0 (zero).

Set the TabIndex property for each control. You will find it on the Other tab of Properties window or right click anywhere over the form and select Tab Order. I find the first method easier if the form has a lot of controls or controls not given meaningful names.

I have never used Access 2000, I am assuming this property is available.
