I have an old access 2003 database that I would like to clean-up/ repair or create a new database and import all tables/ queries/ data/ etc however I cannot gain access or administer permissions.
I have tried virtually everything from trying to import into a new database to changing all user access permissions using both access 2003 and access 2010.
I have been through many pages in google and nothing seems to work as I get error messages no matter what I change and it will not allow me to change owner as it states I must login as administrator but I can't find out how?
The database is owned/ created by Engine however it just logs me in every time as Admin and I can't change anything even after I create a new Workgroup Administrator or join the current one it doesn't change from Engine as owner.
Furthermore if I try and import it says I don't have permission either and must speak to administrator, so I have no idea how to become an administrator or login as one if I can't change anything or access the database if I am not an administrator which is quite frustrating
The complete back-end consists of 2 x mdb files one of which is an audit file and 1 x .mdw file and I can access the audit.mdb and the .mdw files however the main database .mdb will not let me in no matter what I do and states errors such as
'You do not have the necessary permissions to use MDB objects...Have your system administrator or the person who created this object establish the appropriate permissions for you. ''.
Any ideas and help are appreciated?
Thanks
