Limit number of records in report

I have 2 tables, the first with general information, and the second is a "notes" table. The tables are joined by a one to many relationship, one record in the general table, and infinite number of records in the notes table. I am creating a report and I want to have specific fields from the general information table, but only the 2 most recent notes from the notes table. Is that possible?

Thanks for your help. Unfortunately, the article you posted did not help me. The first solution was not really pertinent, and the 2nd solution uses visual basic which I do not have, nor do I know how to use. Any other suggestions? Can I build a macro? Thanks for any advice.

Did you try the TOP predicate alone?

SELECT TOP 2 Field1, Field2
FROM TableName
ORDER BY FieldName
