Problem sorting date on query

I have the following query

ID
Date
Note

I have sorted the query showing date in descending order. When I run the query it works fine but if I save it and then rerun it. The query is then sorted in ID ascending order.

What is the SQL of the query? It should have an ORDER BY clause, which I suspect it doesn't. In design view, the Sort row should have an entry in it on the date field. By the way, "Date" is not a good field name, as Access might confuse it with the built-in Date() function.

Just clicked on the SQL - it does have an order by in the query.

And you save it that way? I've never seen a saved query lose a part like that.
