    Development Performance - Suddenly Whacked!

I've been working on a database for some weeks now. All of a sudden - about 2 or 3 business days ago - my development environment performance changed quite dramatically!

It's only happening on this one database. Performance on other databases on this PC is fine.

When I click on a button - practically any button - I get super-long wait times. I clicked on "Publish to SharePoint" and found a wait time of several minutes (perhaps 8 or 9). A week ago my wait would have been several seconds. I can also try to open a report or query in any view and I get the long wait times and an hourglass. I have tried to work online and work offline - similar results. Click on a button... try to do something... and I get a very long wait.

So, something is whacked with this database. I have tried "Database Tools" - "Analyze" - "Performance" but the recommendations don't seem to be addressing the issue.

    Any ideas? Thank you.

Have you tried Compact & Repair?
Make a copy of your Database first before you do this - just in case.

Also - is it possible that your DATA has somehow multiplied?

I've never had this problem - so I'm clutching at straws.

I've had databases go corrupt and just totally lock up - and I've had certain forms / queries 'go bad'.

But the long wait times - if it is not getting data over the network - makes me wonder if something in your data got changed . . . is that possible?

    May be network related.

    Thanks.

The Repair and Compact didn't work. My co-worker theorizes that the issue may be network related. Also, this is an Access View connected to a SharePoint list, so, perhaps this has something to do with the issue. Also, I may have been wrong in assuming that only this one database is affected.
