    Report the number of occurrences in a field

    I'm new at this so I hope this is the right place. Basically, I want a report which tells how many times a string occurs in a column. The information will be something like "falls" "skin tears" or "bruises", so I want the output to show me that there were falls=4 skin tears=6 etc. Does that make sense and How do I do that?

    Create a select query that groups by the text field, and counts occurences. Then base your report on that.
    Something like :

    Select TextfieldName, Count([TextFieldName])
    From TableName
    Group By [TextFieldName];
