    Question Parameter Query Calculations

Okay, so I am not even sure if access can do this, I hope it can.

I want to make a query that will display a calculation based on information in the fields in a specific row.

So, each calculation could possibly be different based on an input of production (per a prompt) and the defective amounts already in the field for defective totals. For example, a cross tab with the following info:

    .................................................. ..Internal/External (Column Heading)
    Manuf. Cell (row heading) -----------
.....Defect Type (row heading) ------|.. Sum of Defective Total (Value)
    ........Defect Code (row heading) ----

A prompt would ask for the production total. Then access would run a query to display the following:

Manuf. Cell | Defect Type | Defect Code | DPM* (defect parts per million)

DPM would be sum of defective total/production total * 1000000

    Help please!!

    Thanks!!

The input to the prompt would apply to all records. Parameters for a crosstab must be declared. Search the Access Help on topic crosstab parameters. Review this thread http://www.accessmonster.com/Uwe/For...crosstab-query
How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.

Please reply to this thread with any new information or opinions.
