Query troubles.

Hi everyone,



I am Steve I am a fairly new user to Access,
I started using access for certain parts of my uni degree.

I have been searching around on the internet but cannot figure out how to do these certain queries.
I have been give a database with data, (FirstName, SurName, ITMark, MathsMark, Gender and Suburb ect)

I have been tring to do a query in query design that displays the average total mark(ITMark+MathsMark) for each suburb.

Also I would like to do a query that displays the highest ITMark of each suburb and a query that does the highest MathsMark for females, and finally a display of the average ITMark and MathsMark overall.

Any help would be greatly appreciated and I lookforward to joingin the accessforums.net community and contributing in the future

These are aggregate calcs. Requires a SELECT with GROUP BY clause and aggregate functions. This is basic Access functionality and Access Help has guidelines on building queries. Search the Help for query, aggregate, totals, GROUP BY.

Can also build a report using Grouping & Sorting with aggregate calcs. The report will allow you to see detail records and the summary calcs. Again, Access Help has guidelines.
