Smile Setting Fields Dynamically in Datasheet View

This looks like a minefield so I thought I'd check here first. I decided to go with datasheet view on several forms after researching a previous question here. Of course that has brought up a lot of other issues. Here's what I want to do.

Depending on the option the user selects, I want to change the columns that are displayed. I have found that setting property values, like Visible, do not affect datasheet view. All columns in design view are displayed, regardless. I do know how to set column width and a few other properties. As I'm typing here, I'm considering putting all columns I need into design view and then setting certain column widths to .

Flash! Just tested this using a Select Case statment and it looks like a winner. ColumnWidths set to 0 do not appear and other columns adjust left.

Something about laying the problem out for others causes the gears in my head to turn. It seems like a shame to waste all this nice prose. Feel free to comment or suggest alternate solutions.
